About Chloe Smith
Chloe Smith is a Juris Doctor candidate at Northeastern University School of Law, expected to graduate in May 2028, bringing to her legal studies a strong academic foundation and a genuine passion for client-centered work. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Colgate University, graduating with Dean’s List distinction and completing an original senior thesis examining the psychological and social factors that shaped public adherence to COVID-19 guidelines — research that reflects both her analytical rigor and her enduring interest in how people make decisions under pressure. Her undergraduate experience also included a semester abroad at Queen Mary University of London, broadening her perspective on law and policy in a global context.
Before law school, Chloe gained meaningful exposure to trust and estate work as a Trust Administrator at McLane Middleton, PA, one of New England’s prominent law firms, where she partnered with attorneys and trust officers to manage administration, tax filings, and compliance across a portfolio of more than 800 trusts. She served as a key point of contact for clients and financial advisors, handling matters related to distributions, payments, and ongoing trust administration — experience that gave her a practical, client-facing understanding of the very work she is now studying. She also contributed to a firm-wide initiative to implement a new information management system, leading data collection and organization efforts that improved overall efficiency.
Chloe’s legal curiosity extends back even further, having interned with Riverstone Insurance where she researched asbestos-related trust documentation, analyzed complex bankruptcy and consolidation records, and prepared detailed reports to support attorneys evaluating litigation recovery prospects. That early experience sharpened her research skills and introduced her to the intersection of law, finance, and risk — themes that continue to shape her developing legal interests. She is proficient in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis, as well as data analysis tools such as SPSS and R.
Outside of her studies and professional experience, Chloe is a natural communicator and organizer, qualities she has demonstrated in every environment she has entered — from serving as Senior Class Standards Representative for her sorority chapter at Colgate, where she oversaw communications and compliance for nearly 90 members, to her most recent role managing client relations and confidential medical records at a busy veterinary practice in Virginia Beach. She is passionate about animals, detail-oriented by nature, and deeply committed to providing the kind of thoughtful, responsive service that clients in estate planning and elder law deserve.
